Digital Innovation shaping the future of financial services.

OpenG2P had the opportunity to participate in the Global Fintech Fest 2025, held in Mumbai from October 7 to 9. Organised by the Payments Council of India (PCI), the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), and the Fintech Convergence Council (FCC), this year’s event was themed “Empowering Finance for a Better World Powered by AI.”
The fest brought together a dynamic mix of over 100,000 people from 7,500 companies, including 400 exhibitors, and 70 global regulators representing 75 countries. It served as a global platform for fintech innovators, policymakers, regulators, investors, banks, startups, and technology leaders to connect, collaborate, and shape the future of finance.

Our presence at the event, including a booth at the venue, allowed us to connect with a diverse range of stakeholders. It provided a valuable platform to engage in conversations about OpenG2P—our open-source project, our offerings, the global challenges we are addressing, and how we support governments in delivering public benefits in a secure, transparent, modular, and efficient manner.

The Global Fintech Fest was attended by several influential global leaders, including the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, the Finance Minister of India, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rt. Hon. Sir Keir Starmer, and the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis.
In his keynote address, Prime Minister Modi described the India Stack as a beacon of hope for the world—particularly for countries in the Global South. He also highlighted the role of MOSIP in helping nations build strong digital identity systems and emphasised India’s commitment to fostering digital empowerment, not just digital aid.

Puneet Joshi, CTO, OpenG2P, was part of a session, ‘India Fintech Connect – Linking India’s fintech with the world,’ where he talked about OpenG2P’s work across countries, the principles that guide us, and the impact we are striving to create through open digital systems. The session saw participation from officials from the NEST Division, MEA, RBI, dignitaries from foreign embassies in India, and representatives from Indian embassies worldwide.
The platform offered opportunities for cross-border collaboration, policy dialogue, and international market access, strengthening India’s role in the global fintech ecosystem.

We’re excited to continue our work as a Digital Public Good, contributing to a world where technology enables equitable access to public services.
