OpenG2P was happy to participate in the Global DPI Summit 2025, held in Cape Town, South Africa, from November 4–6, 2025. Centred on the theme “DPI in Practice: Implementing Tomorrow’s Digital Society Today,” the Summit brought together global leaders, technologists, policymakers, and practitioners for an exchange of ideas through high-level sessions, panel discussions, and interactive workshops.

As a leading technology provider and DPI practitioner, Puneet Joshi, CTO of OpenG2P, shared his insights during a panel on “Implementing Recipient Choice & Recipient Voice.” He spoke about how OpenG2P’s ID Mapper empowers beneficiaries to choose where they receive funds, thereby enhancing financial inclusion and efficiency. Puneet also highlighted the solution’s successful implementation in India for bulk cash transfers. Additionally, he discussed OpenG2P’s ongoing work on an AI-powered grievance redressal system, which enables citizens to interact with an AI agent in their local language via phone. This system seamlessly connects to multiple citizen databases on the backend, enabling faster, more comprehensive grievance resolution.

Our collaboration with the Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Institute (ATI) was highlighted by Dr Girum Ketema, Director of Digital Agriculture and Finance at ATI, during a session on “DPI to Enable Agricultural and Food Systems Transformation.” Dr Ketema spoke about our Farmer Registry and contribution to data exchange and integration with several databases to create the Farmer Profile, which is part of the Agri stack. He underscored the importance of our work in alignment with Open Agri Net.

Over the three days, Nagarajan Santhanam, our Chief Dissemination Officer, and Vinoth Kumar, Head - Ecosystem & Academy, had meaningful interactions with existing and future partners.

At the OpenG2P booth, our team connected with government representatives, implementation partners, and fellow Digital Public Goods (DPG) innovators from around the world. These engagements offered valuable insights into emerging use cases, practical implementation challenges, and the transformative potential of DPI to strengthen digital ecosystems and deliver tangible benefits to people.

The experience underscored the importance of collaboration and partnerships across governments, the private sector, and open-source communities to build robust DPI systems. Drawing on insights from our interactions, the OpenG2P team is deeply committed to developing secure, interoperable, and relevant solutions that enable the fast, efficient, and effective delivery of benefits.
